G-code (Geometric Code) and M-code (Machine Code) are the foundational languages of CNC machines. They tell the machine where and how to move, and what auxiliary actions to perform. Even on conversational control interfaces, G/M codes are generated and executed behind the scenes.

A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe is an automated machine tool that performs precision cutting operations based on computer programming. It holds the workpiece on a rotating spindle while the turret or tool slide executes turning, drilling, or grooving operations with high precision.
